  • The Plant Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and leading our manufacturing plants delivering product to market.  This responsibility must be done most efficiently, with lowest cost, acceptable quality, safely, and on-time. This position provides leadership, development, and direction for their plant employees;
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and evaluations for plant staff;
  • Propose improvements and changes in procedures to improve quality, safety, service, efficiency, and lead-time;
  • Maintain a clean and safe plant. Maintain good housekeeping taking plant to a world class level, including waste reduction, reduction in customer returns, and best practices;
  • Ensure proper staffing levels are in place, while meeting budget requirements;
  • Ensure proper training is being conducted with staff;
  • Ensure employee performance reviews are being conducted per our guidelines;
  • Recommend promotions as well as dealing appropriately with employee job performance deficiencies;
  • Ensure production schedules are reviewed continuously;
  • Ensure proper notification is taking place in a timely manner with material shortages, quality, safety, and employees issues per our  guidelines;
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of quality requirements;
  • Understand and keep current on technology of plant;
  • Ensure there are scheduled and conducted production, quality, and safety plant meetings per our guidelines;
  • Ensure all safety, health, and environmental requirements are being administered per our guidelines;
  • Ensure any injury is dealt with immediately in an appropriate manner and reported per our guidelines;
  • Ensure preventative maintenance practices and procedures are being completed per our  guidelines;
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding any manufacturing process;
  • Optimize plant operation cost and meet operating budget while improving production yields;
 
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, generally in Engineering and Ten (10) years of progressively responsible manufacturing management experience desired;
  • Master’s Degree with demonstrated experience, a plus;
  • Technical background in manufacturing, a plus;
  • Statistics, accounting and manufacturing fundamental concepts are required;
  • Thorough Quality and Safety demonstrated knowledge required;
  • Computer Skills – Office Windows proficiency is required.  Understanding MRP software applications like Solomon or any other is a plus;
  • Demonstrated leadership, along with strong inter-personal communications skills required;
  • Valid Drivers’ license.

  • Ability and knowledge in Microsoft office applications (word, excel, and power point);
  • Ability and knowledge to learn other software utilized by us;

  • Ability to keep current with an understanding of Quality, Productivity, Safety, Technology, and Budgeting per our standards;
 
Math Ability:
  • Advanced ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure;
  • Advanced ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals;
  • Advanced ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
 
Work Environment:
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can be loud in the plant;
  • Primarily covered or enclosed building with seasonal temperature variations;
  • Ability to work with moderate noise, dust and fumes may be required;
  • Ability to work with and around chemicals of various hazard levels may be required;
 
Work attire & PPE
  • Personal or company shirt. Sturdy work pants or jeans. No shorts or cut offs per plant requirements;
  • Coveralls, steel toed/static resistant safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator and other required PPE provided by us based on plant requirements;
 
Physical Demands:
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds;
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required;
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision;
  • Regularly required to sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear;
  • Frequently required to walk and occasionally climb stairs;
  • Occasionally required to squat, stoop, bend, kneel, twist, scoop;
  • Travel and overnight required.
